Meet The Members

There are five members of Spam: Thomas Smeding, Alex Lloyd, Daniel Van
Werkhoven, Lara Smeding and Brett Arnold. Each joined Spam at different
times and made their own contribution to the band. They joined from the day
it started, January 29th 2006, to just over two years later! They have all
contributed equally to Spam in their own way, whether simply giving
everything they had musically or in organisation, advice, lyrically, artwork or
music videos.
Thomas Smeding - Thomas is known as the band 'Musical Genius' and one
of the two founders. He plays the piano, bass guitar, electric guitar and
writes some lyrics. He is 20 years old, lives in Amsterdam, Netherlands and
Spam wouldn't have started without him. He is the rock of the band that
keeps things in perspective and does not lose sight of Spam's musical vision.
Alex Lloyd - Alex is the main lyricist, band manager & mixer, video producer,
and orchestral composer. He was one of the two founders and thought of the
band name. He is 16 years old and lives in Sydney, Australia and has held
Spam together despite all difficulties encountered. He has contributed to
Spam by writing other instrumental parts on songs.
Daniel Van Werkhoven - Dan is primarily Spam's electric guitarist but also
does some drums, bass guitar and is the band's secondary singer, providing
male vocals where appropriate. He joined in late January, 2007, just before
Spam's one year anniversary. He brought new ideas, new musical
approaches and overall a great sound that you hear in so many songs. He
saved Spam from disaster as they needed someone to help them with
various songs. He contributes enormously despite his other commitments. He
lives in Beaudesert, Australia. Daniel is 18 years old and loving what he does.
Lara Smeding - Lara is Spam's lead singer as well as other miscellaneous
tasks in assisting Alex's management of the band. She joined at the start of
November, 2007. When the search began after the departure of Jordan
Micheal Peterson, Lara was thought of. Having a female voice wasn't what
Spam had originally intended, but the enchanting voice and innovative
melody lines has altered the band in an extremely positive way. She is the
younger sister of Thomas. She lives in the Netherlands at the age of 17 with
talent streaming out of her.
Brett Arnold - Brett joined Spam as a skilled guitarist but also as a
drummer. He joined in August, 2008, bring a strong sound to Spam. His riffs
and melodic lines are vibrant and powerful that embodies the lyrics and
message of Spam. His timely joining of Spam made him a very appreciated,
useful member for the band.
